Teaching
You’ll receive guidance from a dedicated tutor, collaborate within peer learning groups, and have access to an extensive array of online learning resources and discussion platforms. Furthermore, our custom-built rehabilitation skills labs serve as key venues for instruction.
Through self-directed study you will delve deeply into a chosen area of interest, honing your research and presentation abilities while gaining a better understanding of potential career paths.
You’ll embark on practice placements in diverse healthcare settings, ranging from acute NHS hospital trusts and community services to mental health establishments and private hospitals. These closely supervised hands-on experiences are vital for applying theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
Assessment
We employ a variety of evaluation methods, tailored to the learning objectives set for each course. These methods encompass written assignments such as essays, posters, presentations, reflective pieces, and case studies, as well as practical assessments of your physiotherapy capabilities in both lab-based sessions and during placements.
In your second year of study, you will be tasked with preparing a research paper, reporting on a collaborative research project with your peers. Additionally, you’ll be required to craft a report outlining a proposal for enhancing current practice quality. Furthermore, you will compile a case study and a reflective portfolio to demonstrate your ability to handle complex situations in the context of physiotherapy practice. You will also have the opportunity to explore and present a topic of personal or professional interest at our annual student conference.
