UNIVERSITY OF HERTFORDSHIRE

MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration)

Overview

This dynamic two-year program equips you with the knowledge, skills, and practical experiences necessary to become a contemporary physiotherapist with a master’s qualification. The modern curriculum covers primary, secondary, and tertiary care settings to align with patient-centered healthcare. Research forms the foundation of practice, emphasizing leadership and innovation.

Through scenario-based learning, you’ll discover the interconnectedness of various subjects and care settings, mastering essential skills to become an independent practitioner. Throughout your journey, you’ll engage in practical laboratory sessions and small group tutorials to enhance confidence and expertise.

Our approach combines online, face-to-face, and clinical placement learning opportunities. Assessment will involve practical sessions and coursework.

You’ll undertake seven different placements, typically beginning in the first semester, allowing you to gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge. Canadian students will complete over 1,025 hours of clinical practice placements, ensuring they meet the supervised clinical education hours required by the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators to obtain credentials in Canada.

Upon successfully completing this accelerated degree, you will be eligible to apply for membership with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This qualification will allow you to practice physiotherapy in the UK, should you decide to remain and work in the UK.
